Euralis launched its foie gras business through the acquisition of Grimaud Montfort in the mid-1990's. The aim was to enable its farmers to diversify. The Group soon rose to the top of the foie gras market, consolidating its leadership position with the purchase in 2002 of Rougié Bizac International. This acquisition established Euralis as the world leader on the foie gras and duck products market in its two supply centres in South West France and the Pays de la Loire as well as on the various consumer markets for foie gras.
